Chapter 11

We had driven around for about an hour now, and he showed me everything like the bakery, supermarket and even the library.
“So what time do you have to be back home?” Ricky asked
“Um….. before dark”
“Ok then I should really get you home. There is only half an hour until it is.” When we got back to my new house he walked me up to the front door and said goodbye and that he would see me at school. I walked inside and sat on the couch.
“Mum, Dad I’m home” I yelled out like I always do then turned the TV on. I got my phone out of my pocket and turned it on. 10 missed calls from Matt. I wondered if I should call him back or not since he lied to me about helping his dad with the car. I decided not to and went to help mum with tea.
“How is the town?” Mum asked
“It’s very nice, Ricky showed me around”
“You mean the guy that came over and welcomed you to the town?”
“Yeah, He is very nice”
“is he just?” she asked being very nosey
“Yes he is, He goes to the same school as me and Is going to show me around then as well”
“Well just be careful Megan”
“I will don’t worry mum”
“Ok” We started to set the table and called dad for tea. After tea I went and had a shower then got into bed. Mum came in the next morning waking me up so that I could get ready for my first day of school. I straightened my hair and applied my black makeup, said goodbye to mum and dad then walked out the door. Being the new girl is gonna suck, but I guess I’m just gonna have to live with it. Matt called me just before I walked in the gates of my new school.
“Hey Meg, Just wanted to wish you luck with your first day of school”
“Thanks Matt” I said just as the bell rang “Hey I have to go don’t want to be late for class”
“Ok I love you. Have a good day”
“Yeah you too. Bye” I hung up and walked in the gates for my very first day at Robina High School.

Strange New Beginning
Chapter 10

Why didn’t I realise that before he hung up. Why would he lie to me like that? I really would like to know. I don’t think I’ll call him back. Probably no point since he lied about having to go. Its only 5:00pm and I think I might go for a walk to check out the place.
“Hey mum can I please go for a walk to check out the place?”
“Yeah sure. Just be back before dark”
“Ok bye” I walked out the door and walked down to the beach. There were people surfing and kids building sand castles while their parents watched them. I decided to sit on the beach and watch the surfers. After about 10 minutes of sitting there wondering why Matt had lied and how the surfers knew how to do what they were doing, one of the surfers cane out of the water and wondered over to me.
“Hey Megan” it was Ricky
“Hey, wow you were really good out there”
“Thanks, I’m gonna enter the Quick Silver surf comp later in the year.”
“Cool I might have to come and watch you”
“Yeah you just might”
“So what school do you go to?” I asked him
“I go to Robina High School, where are you gonna go”
“Robina High School”
“Would you like me to show you around the town and school?”
“Yeah sure”
“Ok, hey I should just warn you, strange things have been going on at that school for a while now”
“Really like what?” I asked interested in whether he was just trying to scare me or he was actually telling the truth.
“Well people have been going missing and then turning up in the most random places. Like just a month ago a girl went missing and then turned up in the local caravan park with a blood stain on her dress.”
“You’re just messing with me right?”
“No I’m dead serious”
“Ok….”
“Well would you like to go for that tour now?”
“Yeah sure” we walked off to his car and he put his surf board on top of the car and we got in and drove around the town.

Strange New Beginning
Chapter 9

After 48 hours in the car driving to Queensland we finally made it. I got out of the car and had a look at the new house. I walked in and had a look around. The place looked really old and dark. After hours of unpacking and putting everything in place, I sat down on the couch and started watching TV, then there was a knock at the door.
“Mum door. Answer it!” I yelled out being too lazy to get up. After about a minute when she wouldn’t come down I got up and answered the door. A guy with brown hair and brown eyes was standing there looking very friendly.
“Hello” I said
“Hey I’m Ricky, Welcome to the neighbourhood”
“Thanks, I’m Megan”
“Nice to meet you Megan. Where did you come from?” he asked nicely
“Well I came from Melbourne in Victoria”
“What’s it like down there?”
“It can get really cold at times but it’s really nice. Would you like to come inside?”
“I can’t sorry, I have to get back home. I wasn’t meant to be gone long”
“Ok, well I’ll see you around”
“I guess you will”
“Bye Ricky”
“Bye Megan” as he said that he left down the street, and I went back inside and plonked myself back on the couch to  continue watching my show. He was really cute. I couldn’t stop thinking about Ricky and how nice he was.
“Megan who was at the door?” Dad yelled
“It was a guy from around here, Ricky”
“Ok darl” he replied without another word. Oh god. I thought to myself I forgot to call Matt.
I picked up my phone and dialled his number
“Hello”
“Hey Matt”
“Oh hey Megan how’s it going?”
“Yeah not too bad, everything is in the house and now all we gotta do is get used to it I guess”
“That’s good”
“Yeah it is. Hey I miss you”
“I miss you too Megan. I gotta go dad wants me to help him with the car”
“Ok bye”
“Bye Megan” He said and hung up. Wait just  a minute, Matt hates cars.
