Chapter 28

Emily's POV:

Carson and I sat on his bed, his body so close against mine that I could feel his body heat radiating through my clothes. The Notebook was playing on the T.V and his fingers were twirling my hair, his other hand was wrapped around my waist. Everything just felt so… natural.
               “I really like you, Emily.” Carson said softly, breaking my attention away from the movie.
               I looked up at him and smiled. “I really like you too, Carson.”
               He grinned and gave my lips a quick peck before turning back to watching the movie. A few seconds later he started talking again. “Emily,” He started.
               I turned and looked up at him “Yeah?”
               Then he said those five words I thought I’d never hear. “Will you be my girlfriend?”
Carson’s POV:
“Emily,” I started, “Will you be my girlfriend.” Her eyes widened in pure shock, and I wasn’t sure if it was a good thing or a bad thing.
               After a moment she took a deep breath. “N-no.” She stuttered. “I-im sorry.” She got up off my bed and headed for the door, leaving me shocked and hurt. After all we have been through, after the sparks flying when we kissed, she said no. I thought she said she liked me? What about all the kisses, the feelings, the emotions? Talk about mixed signals. The pain in my heart tripled as I heard the door slam. She left.
