Derek showed me where room 216 was, and explained the easiest way to get to my other classes. We had no classes together, which I felt kind of sad about. Oh well.
"I'll see you at lunch?" he asked before leaving for his classes.
"Of course. Thank you Derek." He shot another warm smile and walked away.
I took a deep breath and walked into the classroom. I sat at a free table in the back, and started doodling on a piece of paper. I didn't notice when two girl approached my table, so when they said hi, I jumped once again.
"Sorry!" one of them giggled. I wasn't as nervous as I was before, so I smiled at her.
"It's fine. I'm Haley, by the way. I'm new."
"Yeah, we noticed" the girl who was giggling said. "I'm Leah, and this is Lily." she said, and they both smiled warmly. It was nice.
"Nice to meet you, Leah, Lily." I said back. Just then, the bell rang, and our teacher walked in. Another girl whispered to me
"Hey, I'm sorry, mind if I sit with you?"
"Not at all." I whispered back.
"Sit down, students. I would like to inform you that as of now, we have a new student in our class. Her name is Haley Tyler. Please welcome her nicely. Haley, my name is professor Rodger. I prepared you a list of requirements. I hope we'll get along." said our teacher, approached me and handed me the list.
"Thank you professor." I muttered. The rest of the class went pretty quick - I found out about what we're learning, pleased to see I've already been over this in my old school. The girl who sat next to me was named Melanie. She was really sweet. She was also part of the group Leah and Lily hung out with. I was also pleased to find out we had most of our classes together.
"Do you want to sit with us at lunch?" she asked me.
"I'm sorry, I already promised this really nice guy, Derek, I'd sit with him!"
"Well that's good, Derek sits with us at lunch. So do Jason, Eric and Jared. Have you met them?"
I shook my head.
"Oh well, you'll meet them soon enough. Jared is my boyfriend." she said and smiled. "Jason is with Leah, and Eric and Lily have been together for almost two years now."
"Oh, that's sweet." I said not knowing what else to add. The bell rang, announcing the end of Maths. Me and Melanie said hi to Leah and Lily, and went on to our next class. I forgot half the directions Derek gave me, but it didn't matter since Melanie was guiding the way. The rest of the classes went by pretty much the same, the teachers introduced me and gave me a list of requirements, and went ahead with lessons. It was surprisingly easy to talk during classes - the teachers never seemed to notice. I tried not getting too caught up in the conversation though, I was trying to paint a decent picture of what's waiting for me in my head. Apparently, not much. I already learnt all the lessons we were taught that day in my previous school. Oh well. Lunch went pretty well too, everyone at the table was really nice and welcoming towards me. Derek was happy I got to meet his friends. I was too - even though there was a tad bit too much romance going on at the lunch table since everyone except Derek and me was a couple. Before I knew it, the school day was over. I was happy - I was worried about Jamie and wanted to go pick him up. Just as I opened my locker to grab my things, someone slammed it shut. Annoyed, I looked up.
