Chapter
six
I had a dream that night.
A weird one, actually. I didn't understand it. It was
just me, standing on a mountain with someone I didn't
recognize. We were just together, me and this person, just
facing the wind, feeling fearless. somehow, It felt like we
were tied together in a never- ending bond. Like I needed
and wanted this person more than any thing in the entire
world.
I just wanted to know who it was. I spoke.
" who are you?"
Their face was blurred.
" You'll know. In time."
" know what?" I said.
" You'll know. In time."
The scene shifted. I was on a flat plain of nothing, just
running. Running endlessly. Running in desperation to
something I couldn't understand. There was a figure in
the distance that I was running to. It was weird though, I
felt so happy inside. I was bursting out laughing, despite
myself.
Then, Something grabbed me from behind and spun me around.
I laughed, even though I did not understand. My laugh
seemed distant, echoed. It was the weirdest sensation
I've ever had.
Then, I woke up to my phone buzzing. I grabbed it and read
my text i got.
' time to get up and go to school!:D'
It was Adam.
I smiled and hauled myself out of bed, and got ready for my
first day of my new life.
But I couldn't stop thinking about that
dream.
They
never would have known.
Chapter
five
Me and Adam were so bored
beyond belief, about two hours had passed. we were sitting
slouched in our chairs, both staring at equally random
things.
I was zoned out beyond belief thinking about god knows what
when I heard My number called.
" 391!" said the lady sitting there in her chair.
I sprang back to reality so fast, and so did Adam. We
exchanged looks and he smiled at me.
" good luck!"
I smiled. " thanks!"
And with that, i got up and walked down the aisle, and in
front of the judge table. I handed them the paper I had
filled out.
" what are you auditioning for?" the man to the
left said.
" art," i said.
" do you have your example of your work?" said
the other man.
" yes," i said. I handed them my painting. They
examined it, and spoke in low voices. the women then
smiled, and handed me a paper. " congradulations, we
have accepted you into this school. The term starts next
week."
I grinned. " thank you." I walked back to my
seat. Adam was staring at me.
"so did you get in?"
I smiled. " yes!"
He grinned. " I knew you would."
I smiled. " thanks Adam."
he took a deep breathe. " I hope I do too."
I punched his shoulder. " of course you will you silly
boy."
He smiled." thanks."
After about ten minutes, Adam got called.
I grinned at him. " good luck!"
He smiled. " thanks!"
He walked over to the table. I saw him exchange a few words
with the judges, then he walked over to the stage, and
walked behind it. Suddenly. A huge array of lights spread
across the room. A thousand different colors flashed around
the room, and music started blaring. Different shapes made
of light flashed across the room. there was music notes,
people, and loads more, everyone in the room was amazed.
then suddenly, it stopped.
Adam walked out from behind the stage and to the judges
table. at once, they handed him a paper. He smiled and
dashed back up to me and sat down.
" I got in!" he said.
I grinned. " good job!"
He smiled. " thanks! was it good? the light
show?"
I smiled. " it was fantastic! you should have seen the
judges' faces!"
He grinned. " thats awesome. holy crap, this is
amazing!"
I smiled. " i know!" He smiled. " well
hopefully I'll have you to help me get around the
school and stuff!" i laughed.
" of
course."
They
never would have known.
Chapter
four
"So, what are you
auditioning for?"
I was still talking to that guy who had sat next to me
named Adam.
" electrician. you know, someone to work the lighting
and stuff for the plays they have here. You audition by
showing them something you can do with electricity."
He smiled. " I'm doing a light show."
I grinned. " thats so cool!"
He smiled. " I just hope I get in! what are you
auditioning for?"
" To be an artist here," i said. " to make
the sets and stuff. heres the painting I'm going to
show them." I held up my painting. Adam's eyes got
wide.
" thats good!" he exclaimed.
I smiled. " thanks, I hope the judges think
that!"
He smiled. " of course they will."
After about an hour, Adam fell asleep on me. It kind of
made me laugh, I barely even knew him, yet he already was
falling asleep on me. It seemed like we were going to be
good freinds. I hoped so, I thought he was really nice.
When another half an hour had passed, I fell asleep too. I
was shaken awake by Victoria.
"Hey Abby, the judges are here!"
I jerked awake and woke up Adam. " hey Adam, the
judges are here!"
"wha- oh! they are!"
we watched as three people, two men and a woman all dressed
very profesionally walked in the room and sat down in the
three chairs at the front of the room. The lady then spoke
in a high- pitched voice.
" auditions start now. wait for your number to be
called. you have five minutes to audition. the first number
is number 261."
I was number 394. I groaned. that meant I would be here for
awhile. But Adam was 400, so It could be worse.
" this Is going to take forever," he said.
" i know, I said. what are we going to do?"
He smiled. " thumb war?"
I laughed.
" you're
on."
They
never would have known.
Chapter
three
I woke up early the
next morning. I didn't really want to get up, but I
promised Ms. Sue. So I got up, put on a pair of skinny
jeans and a red and dark blue flannel shirt, and some grey
old toms. I brushed my blonde hair into its usual pin
straight state.
I got into my car and drove away from the small town in
Italy In which I lived. I checked my iphone to see where I
was, and I kept driving until I saw the school. It was
pretty huge, and I started to get a little nervous.
I went to the front office to ask about auditions, and they
told me that they were having auditions today. They gave me
a paper I had to fill out and a number and I sat down In
the auditorium, to wait for the judges. There was about two
hundred other people sitting down in there too, all with
numbers. I sat down in the top row next to a girl with
brown- wavy hair.
I smiled at her. " Cool if I sit here?"
She smiled. " of course." She eyed my painting I
had in my hand. " Good painting. You're sure to
get in."
I smiled brightly. " Thanks! What's your
name?"
"Victoria."
I smiled. " I'm Abby."
She shook my hand. " Nice to meet you Abby."
After about an hour, nobody had come yet to judge us. I had
even fallen asleep once.
suddenly, a guy walked up the aisle and sat down right next
to me. He had black hair that was insanely curly and thick,
and tan skin.
He smiled at me. " There wasn't any seats anywhere
else."
I laughed. " I know."
He grinned. " I'm Adam."
I smiled.
" Abby."
I was off to a pretty good start, I had already made two
freinds. But oh so little did I know about my future with
these two people.
Oh How so little I
knew.
They
never would have known.
Chapter
two
it was now springtime.
I was putting up a beautiful new flower display in front of
the cafe' with Ms. Sue. She had just now finished
helping me put up a painting of a fruit bunch I had painted
by the bathrooms.
Your'e a fantastic artist you know," said Ms. Sue.
I laughed. " Thanks Ms. Sue."
She smiled. " you should go to that school of arts
they have a few miled away from here."
there is a really good school of arts and talents not far
from here. I've always wanted to go there, but I
didn't think i was good enough.
But Ms. Sue kept bugging me about it. She told me she had a
really good feeling about me going there. So that day, I
made the most important choice of my life. "Alright
Ms. Sue. If I go and audition for that school, will you
clean out your garage?"
She laughed. " alright, deal."
" alright then," I said. " I'll bring
them my hibiscus painting. I'll go tomarrow." She
smiled. " Finally."
And we finished putting up the flowers. they looked
beautiful.
that night i got my painting together, and
wondered what the future would
bring.
They
never would have known.
Chapter
one
So let me tell you my
story from the beginning. When I graduated highschool, My
freind and I created a little cafe' together. we called
it Izzie's cafe', after our moms. Just out of
coincidence, they had the same name. We hired an older lady
named Ms. Sue who was really looking for work, and now she
is one of my best freinds. I consider her a co-owner
now.
but about six months after we opened the cafe',
my dear freind died in a car crash.
It took me awhile to get over it. She had been my best
freind scince 9th grade. It was tough running the cafe'
by myself, but Ms. Sue was always there. She worked long
and hard and I'm grateful for that.
Now, our little cafe' has flourished beyond
belief.
We grow flowers and put them everywhere inside the
cafe', and the outside of the cafe' is completely
covered in every different kind of flower you could
imagine.
I finally came up with the money to fully- purchase the
cafe' from the bank, and Ms. Sue and I were overjoyed.
I moved into the flat above the cafe', so I could work
and be home at the same time.
By this time, I was only seventeen years old.
Yea, I was put into school a year early.
Thinking back on that time now, Im starting to realize
how much has
changed.
They
never would have known.
prologue
hi guys.my name is Abigail,
and I want to tell you my story. It's all about the
peope in my life, and what they have done to shape who I
am. This story is about love and loss, sadness and envy. My
story is about how the past couple of months has changed my
life forever. It's about heartbreak and fighting the
ones you love and accepting the ones you know you
hate.
my story isn't mine after
all.
it's
his.
what is
love?
its soething you share with another person,
a secret, a message. Its knowing when everything will be okay.
Its feeling like you could never ask for anyone else because who
you have is just enough. Its when somebody sets you free, like
the wind, at last. they send compassion to your heart and peace
to your mind. And its confirming that you will never cry a tear
or live a nightmare or have a doubt ever again. and once you find
it, theres no turning back. because what lies ahead has become
better than what has been in your head, and you will stay this
way forever, until the sun dies.
