I was at a public pool with my friends today.
There was a girl there, she looked
around 12 or 13 years old. She was
sitting on a floatie, playing water
basket ball with a friend. The ball
was hit out of the pool, and I watched
her try and climb over the side to grab
it. Her legs were paralized.
Her friend was pushing her, "Hurry
up, come on you can do it"
And she did.
I watched her swim after the ball using
only her arms a few times without the
floatie. Some looked like a struggle, but
she looked so strong.
Getting out of the pool I asked her if
she needed any help getting out and to
her wheelchair, and offered her my
hand. She smiled and said "No thank
you, I'm fine"
She wiggled her way across the floor
and pushed herself into the chair, and
wheeled away smiling.
