Just a Boy.
Chapter 1.
Cassie’s point of view:
The first day of school always scared me; especially if you're the "new kid." I was always afraid of high school, even though I’ve already been to it. Who would sit with me at lunch? Who will be my partner in gym? Who’s going to talk to me during class? Who am I going to have my locker by?
In language arts, we had to write a page about ourselves, yanno... so your peers know about you. It took me forever to write because I don't really know anything about me. Does that make sense? So I just put the basics and tried to elaborate. When I arrived at school for the second day I was still nervous. I didn't know any one yet, but this really cute guy in my Algebra 2 class and my Language Arts class caught my eye.
 "Cassie, can you share your paper with the class?"
"Hi, I'm Cassie Kresh," and then I read, "I am very shy, but once you get to know me, I guess I can be outgoing. I had a lot of friends in my old town. Some people say I was the most popular girl in the school. Which was weird because I was quiet with people I didn't really know, and most of the school was a stranger to me. I'm pretty smart, and ever since I was in 5th grade I got straight A's and B's. Obviously I'm one of the new kids, and this school scares me. My old school wasn't nearly as big, because I lived in a pretty poor town. My mom and dad got a divorce, not because of fighting though, because my dad was rich and my mom was poor. My dad hated paying for my mom's meds and bills all the time." I started to elaborate, I wasn't reading off my paper anymore. "And... my mom, was uh... a little crazy. Well, a lot crazy. She used to talk to me about the red people sitting in the trees, and how animals were here only friends... and that they told her everyone was after her--" I looked up.

Just a Boy.
Summary.
There's a new kid in town, Cassie. She has a lot of problems nobody knows about, but after she spilled some out on a paper, things started to go down hill. She's in 10th grade and used to be at the top of the pyramid (at her old school), but in this school shes lower than the bottom.  There's this guy that caught her eye, Jeremy. He's in 11th grade, and is a total jock. When he first saw the new girl he thought she was beautiful. They both fell in love with eachother, but they barely talked. Cassie's shy, and if Jeremy gets caught falling in love with a  lower classman he's screwed. He'd ruin his reputation, because he's known for getting it on with the seniors. They secretly talk more and more, and near the end of the school year they start to hang out. After they got comfortable with eachother, they made out. After that, things weren't the same. Jeremy wouldn't talk to Cassie, not even look at her... for about a month. Cassie wanted to talk to Jeremy. She thought she did something wrong. Durning the summer they start to talk again but it was just awkward. Will things ever be the same again?
