Hey guys, thanks for reading my story, Everyone Lies.
I really love it when you tell me what you think!
It's kind of based off my highschool experience.

Okay, so clearly no one likes my new story either.
I'll continue writing both, I guess.
So just tell me what you think!

My formspring. I just set up a new one because I forgot my password... Heh.

Everyone Lies
Chapter Twenty-One

Oh, no. Oh oh oh. My heart started beating like crazy. What do I say? I thought. My mind started racing as I thought of things to say. Should I tell him? No, what good would that do... But if I tell him I think I love him too, then I'm basically forgetting about Joey...
"I..." My mind went totally blank. My jaw hung there like an idiot as I waited for words to come to me.
"You don't have to say anything," Paul said. "I just thought I'd let you know."
I still didn't say anything for a few moments. For a second there, I thought I was dreaming, but Paul's touch was all too real. He brushed his hand over my cheek, sending shivers down my back.
"Ritchie, when I said you didn't have to say anything, I have to say I was expecting you to at least say something," Paul said, his eyebrows lowering slightly.
"I'm sorry, I'm just.... Processing it." I pressed my lips to his, and he didn't resist. He kissed me back passionately, moving his body with mine. He took his shirt off, and I moved so I was on top of him, kissing him along his jaw. He ran his hands down my back and I brushed my hands through his hair. He put his hands up my shirt, then lifted it off. As he was reaching to unclip my bra, the door opened and the lights turned on. Paul's head shot up, bumping against mine really hard. I grunted and rolled off of Paul with my eyes tightly closed because of the sudden bright light.
"Whoa. Is it hot in here or is it just you two?" Randy said, leaning against the door frame with an amused look on his face.
"Hah, funny Randy," Paul said, his face completely red. I'm sure I looked just like he did. We stood up from the floor, and I grabbed my shirt. I stood behind Paul, holding my shirt against me.
"It's almost eleven, I have to take Ritchie home," Randy said, tossing his keys in the air and catching them.
"Gives us ten minutes," Paul said, and when Randy didn't move, he added, "Alone."
"Crazy kids," Randy mumbled as he closed the door.
Within seconds, Paul and I were lying on the bed with the lights off again, me with my shirt back on. We were kind of flustered from being caught, so we laughed for a second, but then Paul's face became serious.
"I really like you, Ritchie," he said, wrapping his arms around me and kissing me on the top of my head.
"I feel the same way about you," I said, and looked up into his eyes. I reached my arm over him and put my head on his bare chest. I inhaled deeply, and his delicious scent filled my nose. We stayed like that for a few minutes, until Randy shouted up the stairs saying I had to go. We sat up, and had one last long kiss. Then Paul picked me up and carried me down the stairs. He came with Randy and me on the way home, and we cuddled in the back seat.
When we finally got to my house, Paul walked me to the front door, and put his hands on my face. He opened his mouth like he was going to say something, but he just kissed me instead.
"Bye, Paul."
"Bye, Ritchie."
I went inside and up the stairs with my crutches as quietly as I could because my parents were already asleep. I shut the door and flopped down on my bed, and for reasons completely unknown to me, I started to cry. I buried myself under my blankets and started to sob and sob and sob. I guess it was the guilt and the total confusion finally catching up. But I was crying so hard, I couldn't even think about it.
I woke up confused as to why my pillow was soaking wet...

Sorry this chapter is kind of sucky. I have a wicked busy week coming up, so I don't know when I'll write.

Everyone Lies
Chapter Twenty

"Where you kids going?" Randy asked.
"Upstairs," Paul said.
Randy raised his eyebrows. "Make sure you use protection."
"Okay, first of all, we're not going to do it. Second of all, mom and dad are upstairs and I'm not stupid. Here, want me to carry you up, Ritchie?" Paul turned around, and I hopped on his back. "Ah, be careful with the shoulder."
"Sorry," I said.
He carried me up the stairs, then opened the door to his bed room. It wasn't as big as my room, but there was less stuff in it. There was only a bed with a faded blue quilt, a dresser, a desk with a computer on it, and a huge book case. He put me down on the bed, and sat next to me. I picked up a picture frame from his bedside table. Framed in popsicle sticks was a picture of Paul and a little girl with short hair.
"Who's this?" I asked.
"My little cousin. She has leukemia," he said, looking at the picture with sad eyes.
"I'm sorry, Paul," I said, putting my arm around his waist. "That must suck."
"Yeah, it's pretty tough on the family. She's a good kid."
I put the picture back down and picked up an empty frame. It was pretty, silver, with intricate designs. "What's this one for?"
"I haven't decided. I just liked the frame, thought it was pretty."
I didn't really know what else to say, so I put the frame down. When I looked back at Paul, he was looking down at his hands.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He looked back up at me. "Great, actually."
"well, that's good." I smiled.
We didn't say anything for a few minutes, so to fill the silence I slid off the bed and layed down on the floor. Paul stood up and turned the lights off, then joined me on the floor. We looked up at the glow in the dark stars for a few minutes, not saying anything. Paul reached over and grabbed my hand. He turned his face towards mine. "Tell me a secret."
I looked him in the eye and thought for a moment. I thought about my big secret. I thought about how much I liked Paul. I thought about how much I liked Joey. I thought about my guilt.
I turned my face back towards the stars. "I don't have any."
"Of course you do," he said without hesitation. My heart fluttered.
"What do you mean?"
"Everyone does."
"Well, I... I still watch Scooby-Doo movies if they're on TV. In fact, I love Scooby-Doo." I'm proud to say that's not a lie, but he laughed anyway. "I'm serious."
"That's not a very big secret. That could be true about anyone. Tell me a secret that's unique, that doesn't apply to anyone else."
"My secret is.... I... I don't open up to people. I'm still looking for that one person who I can tell anything to, and if I don't find that person pretty soon, I'm going to explode. I just bottle everything up. Mostly it's because I think people don't care, like I don't matter. Other times I don't want to hurt anyone. And I'm really bad about thinking before speaking, so I babble and babble and realize I never fully come to my point. I'm just not a people-person, I don't interact well with people. Sometimes I feel like I'm stuck like this, like I'm just never going to trust people..." I faded off, realizing if I said any more, I might say something I'd regret.
"You know you can always trust me, right?" Paul ask. I turned over on my side and looked Paul right in the eyes. I like to believe I would have confessed right there, if he hadn't moved in close and kissed me. His lips were warm and smooth. I closed my eyes and pressed my body against his. I wrapped my arms around his neck and he pulled me close.
"Tell me your secret," I said in between kisses.
His lips brushed against my collarbone and up my neck.
"I think I'm falling in love with you."

Tell me what you think!

Everyone Lies
Chapter Nineteen

I stood in front of my closet with support from my crutches. What to wear to watch movies and snuggle... I decided on sweatpants from Victoria's Secret. I put on my prettiest bra, not like I was expecting to get too far, but still. You can never go wrong with a black, lacy pushup bra. I put my hair in a ponytail after taking a shower, then put on a cozy sweater. I didn't put too much makeup on, just eyeliner and mascara.
"Ritchie, are you ready to go?" My mom called up the stairs.
"Yeah!" I said with the last stroke of mascara. I walked down the stairs as fast as I could.
On the way to Paul's, my mom gave me a short version of "the talk," obviously not for the first time. I gotta say, it was a little awkward. When we got there, I texted Paul, and he came out and greeted me, then helped me up the steps into the house. I waved to my mom from the door, then as soon as the door was shut, Paul's lips were on mine. It wasn't a long kiss, but it gave me butterflies.
He backed away, and put his hands on my waist. "You get to meet my parents," he said, putting his arm around me. "Formally, anyways. I don't think briefly seeing them at the hospital counts. Mom, dad! Say hi to Ritchie!"
I looked around as he walked me to the kitchen. The house wasn't very big, and there were family pictures everywhere of Paul and Randy. I smiled at one of Paul when he was a toddler dressed as a puppy for halloween.  There were also some with Kristen. Up until that point, I had totally forgotten they were cousins. As we got close to the kitchen, I heard people talking. When we walked in, I saw Paul's parents, Randy, and Andy standing around, eating pizza.
"Hey Ritchie!" Paul's mom, Nancy, said. His dad, Emilio, waved at me and smiled. I could totally tell that Paul got his smile from his dad. Andy was sitting in a wheelchair with her legs up, and her arm in a sling. I was curious as to how she still looked gorgeous. Randy stood close to her, in an almost protective way, with his arm in a sling, too.
"Hi everyone," I said, smiling.
"Hey, Ritchie, looking good," Randy said, giving me a wink.
"Want some pizza?" Paul asked, grabbing my hand.
I nodded, and hobbled over to get a piece of cheese pizza, then sat on the couch with Paul. We watched the newest episode of The Office with everyone while we ate. As soon as it was over and we were done eating, Paul's parents left and we were alone with Randy and Andy. We turned the TV to Criminal Minds, and I snuggled up against Paul on the love seat. Randy and Andy sat on the other couch, Andy with her legs up. They were absolutely the cutest couple I'd ever seen, and I wondered how long they'd been together.
Paul brought me out of my trance by putting his arm around my shoulders. I looked up into his hazel eyes, and took his hand with the cast on it. I looked down at my signature on the hard cast, with a little heart next to my name.
Paul put his hand under my chin, and lifted my face up to his for a kiss. Randy whistled, and Andy giggled. Paul gave them death glares, but I smiled and gave him another kiss. Just as we were getting into it, someone on the TV was getting murdered, and screaming her head off. I couldn't help but think it wasn't very romantic.
"Want to go upstairs?" Paul whispered in my ear.
I nodded, and he helped me up.

Sorry I haven't written in FOREVER. School has been crazy.
So tell me what you think, PLEASE.

Everyone Lies
Chapter Eighteen

I woke up early saturday morning. Paul had left at 10:30, and I had gone straight to bed, even though I didn't fall asleep for a long time. I slowly sat up in bed, and looked at my cast. I'd only had it on for a week, and I wanted it off. The good thing was that the doctor had said I could try crutches after a week. There they were, leaning against the foot of my bed. I grabbed them and tried to walk with them. It was difficult, but I managed.
I checked my phone. One new voicemail and four new texts from Joey. I gave him a quick call, and we made plans to meet out for lunch. I convinced my mom to drive me after some serious pleading and lying on my part. Then I did my make up, and decided to straighten my hair. I hardly ever straighten it because it just curls back up if there's any moisture in the air, but it was a wicked dry day so I gave it a shot. Straightened, my hair was right in between my shoulder blades. I did my make-up, nothing too flashy. Then I grabbed these special black wool stockings that the hospital had given me to wear over my cast, and put on a jean skirt and an oversized sweatshirt. I put one of my Converse on my right foot. I didn't necessarily look my cutest, but it was gonna have to do. I hobbled down the stairs with my crutches, slipped into my warm winter jacket, and went out to the car with my mom. I had told her I was meeting a couple of friends for lunch.
When we got to the restaurant, which is really just a bakery that sells sandwiches and pizza during lunch, I struggled out of the car and went inside. Joey was sitting in a far corner. When he saw me, he got up and rushed over and put his arm around my waste to help me to my seat.
"So," he said when we were finally sitting. "I see you're out of that wheelchair."
"For now," I said.
We sat there for a few moments in silence.
"Can I kiss you?" Joey ask with a half smile.
"Don't you know the rule, Joey?"
"No? What rule?"
"Never ask for a kiss. Just take one," I said teasingly and leaned over the table to kiss him on the lips. I heard a couple people sitting nearby whisper "awww" and I couldn't help but smile.
"I like that rule," Joey said, grabbing my hand on the table. "What kind of sandwich do you want? I'll go order."
I gave him my order, and while he was up, I got a text from Paul.

Paul:
Hey, want to come over and watch movies tonight?
Ritchie:
Yeah, sounds good. I'm finally out of that damn wheel chair and giving these crutches a shot!
Paul:
Awesome! So it's a date?
Ritchie:
Of course :)

"One roast beef sandwich for you!" Joey said as he placed the sandwich in front of me and gave me a kiss on the head.
We ate in silence, except when we briefly talked about our english teacher, who is thinks we're in love. She made us stand up and hold hands, and read the scene where Romeo and Juliet meet for the first time in front of the class. It was mortifying.
"I like your hair naturally curly better," Joey said, out of the blue, and brushed a lock of my hair behind my ear.
"Really? Thanks. I don't have the patience to straighten it often, so I'm glad you like it," I said, and laughed slightly.
"Do you want some dessert? We could share a piece of cake," he said, looking hopeful.
"Sounds good
," I said, and he got up to get it. When he came back a few moments later, he was carrying a piece of delicious looking lemon cake. We ate it together, and to be honest, I think I ate more than he did. When we were done, he helped me out of my seat and walked me out the door. I got a text from my mom saying she'd be there in ten minutes, and Joey's ride was nowhere in sight, so I reached one hand around his neck and pulled him into a kiss.
"Want to sit on the bench?" Joey asked, so we sat down. We sat really close for a few moments, and kissed, but I got worried that my mom would drive up and see us so I moved to one end of the bench.
"If my mom asks, say we were with a group of friends and they all already left," I said, putting my hand on his knee.
"Alright," he said, and covered my hand with his. We sat there for a few moments until I saw my mom's car coming. He gave me a quick peck on the cheek, then helped me to my feet. He waved at my mom as she pulled up. I said bye to Joey, then got in the car.
"Where's everyone else?" my mom asked, waving to Joey. "Does he need a ride?"
"Oh, they already left. And no, he's fine." I buckled my seat belt, and watched Joey standing there as we pulled away from the curb. "Can I go to Paul's tonight? We're gonna watch movies... His parents will be there."
I didn't know if that last part was true, but I threw it in there just in case. One little white lie can't hurt.
"Sure, why not," she said.
Two boys in one day. I felt slightly slutty.

Chapter 4

The girls are just looking at me, trying not to laugh.
"What?" I ask.
"You're so stupid, Cat," Ringo says, and we all laugh, except Arabella, who has already lost interest.
"What's that building down there?" she asks, pointing to the big building close to the mess hall.
"Arts and crafts," Jen says. She's is one of the few that's been coming to camp since the very beginning with me.
We take turns pushing each other on the tire swings, even Arabella, but she stops after a couple swings because she broke her nail. Then she sits alone on the merry-go-round, until Ringo decides to spin her wicked fast without letting her know. She starts to freak out, and yells at Ringo as soon as she stops spinning.
"What is your problem?" she says, putting her sunglasses on her head. "You should have asked."
"Chill, man. I didn't think it would be a big deal," Ringo says, putting her hands up defensively.
"Whatever. I'm leaving," Arabella says, then stomps down the hill.
"That was weird," Jen says.
"She's certifiably insane," Leena says.
The four of us hang on the play ground, talking about Arabella. When the bell sounds for dinner, we all walk down the hill to the mess hall. We find our table with the red 7 on it and five girls are already taking down the benches. No Arabella yet, though. We help get the benches down, then assign two girls to get the food. Dinner and breakfast are family style, and lunch is "come and get it yourself then sit down wherever." Seriously, that's what it says on a big sign near the door. Jen and Amy volunteer to get the food, and the rest of us take the stacked plates and cups and set up 13 place settings. As I'm putting forks to the right of each plate, someone calls my name. I look up and see Quinn waving at me from the table next to ours. It has a blue 7 on it. I smile and wave back.
"How's the head?" he shouts.
"Great!" I say, and give a thumbs up. Lame.
"Who is that?" Dell asks. Her dark hair is cut into a bob-style this year.
"Just some kid that almost knocked me up - OUT. I mean he almost knocked me out... Not up," I say, totally blushing. Everyone laughs at me and I feel so stupid.
"Something wicked this way comes," Ringo says.
"Sorry I'm late, girls," Arabella says.
"Did you change your clothes?" Ringo asks with wide, incredulous eyes.
"Yeah, I've been traveling in those clothes all day. Three hours in a plane, two hours in a car..." She's changed from her blue dress to a red, strapless top and a jean skirt. She's gotten rid of her sunglasses and has her long, dark hair pushed back with a headband. "What's for dinner?"
"Spaghetti and garlic bread!" Amy says, putting it on the table.
"Hope you weren't planning on hooking up with that Quinn kid, Cat. At least, not if you eat the garlic bread," Arabella says, and winks. "Is there salad?"
"Yeah, you can go up to the salad bar over there, if you want," Amy says, pointing it out through the crowd. "Not yet, though. We have to have our moment of silence."
"Come on girls, sit down," Lauren says, sitting down at one end of the table. At the other end sits the other counselor, Becky.
We all sit, and as soon as we have our moment of silence, we dig in. A few people get up for salad, but the rest of us are fine with spaghetti. I find Natasha and wave to her, then wave to Amanda. Apparently, there are only 6 girls in her division, so they combined her table with the boys of the same division. She has her arms wrapped around some boy. Andrew. They hook up every summer, but they're definitely not a couple. They just like to fool around together. He lives in Colorado, so they never see each other outside of camp. She sees me and waves back.
I find myself looking at Quinn. He's ridiculously cute. I've only ever had one camp romance. It was the summer before eighth grade. Some boy in Amanda's division. I had really liked him, but he didn't come back the next summer.
"This lettuce is so bitter. I can't eat it," Arabella says, but we all ignore her. She shoves it to the side and sips at her water.
We continue to eat in peace, chatting the whole time. We learn that Arabella lives in Palm Beach, Florida. The two other new girls, Anna and Bailey, are really sweet. They make up for the two other girls that hadn't come back this year.
When we're done, Jen and Amy clear the dishes and then we walk back to our bunk together. When we get back, we create the "job wheel," with 6 jobs for us 6 girls so we can alternate jobs every day. Tomorrow I have sweeping duty. Definitely not the worst job. Lucky Arabella gets "checker," which means she gets to tell us if the room looks clean enough. When we're all done with assigning jobs, we change into sweatpants and sweatshirts then head down to the pit which is on the edge of the water. A few other bunks are already there.
"I wonder what we're doing at this 'special gathering,'" Leena says.
We mumble our agreements, and take the few remaining log benches near the fire. We guess at what we're going to be doing while the rest of the bunks arrive. I look at my watch. Quarter to nine.
"Hey, kid," Amanda says, coming up behind me and kissing me on the head. She walks off before I have time to react. I see Quinn on the other side of the fire and he waves to me.
"Alrighty campers! I'm Sean, for those of you who don't know me!" Sean stands on a big stump. He runs the camp. "Hope you're enjoying yourselves so far! Tonight we're going to have a little competition, between the boys and the girls, and I was thinking something along the lines of.... A SING-OFF!"

Is it too confusing with so many names and people?
I know this chapter is lame.
Give me some good feedback!
Untitled

I get out of the car, and rain splashes against my face. So much for it letting up... I walk around the car to where Dad is getting everything out of back, putting it in a pile.  I swing my back pack up and around my shoulders. Amanda, Natasha, and I grab our stuff, then head over to the "Check In" area. We dump our stuff with the rest of the bags, trunks, pillows, and blankets.
"Eee! Amanda!" some girl shrieks.
"Hey Becca!" Amanda says and gives the girl a friendly hug. "What bunk are you in?"
"8A," Becca says, checking the standard three page information packet handed out upon check-in. "You?"
"I don't know yet," Amanda says, then turns to Natasha and me. "Let's check in."
We head over to the table where two girls with ponytails sit with paper and t-shirts.
"Amanda, Cat, and Natasha Queensley," Amanda says, pointing to both of us.
"Ah, welcome back, Queensleys! Here are your information packets and t-shirts.  Size small for you all,  I assume? And Amanda, here is your Junior Counselor in Training badge."
I grab my information packet, and look at the top right corner where "7B" is circled in red ink. I smile then the three of us walk back to where our parents stand, chatting with some other parents.
"Time to say goodbye?" Dad says, pulling us all into a group hug.
"Bye, Dad. Bye, Mom." The hugging continues for a few minutes, then we say our final goodbyes.
My parents are finally gone. I get my stuff together and carry it pack mule style down the rest of the dirt road with my sisters. As we walk over a hill, I get my first good look at Lake Windsor. It sparkles under the late afternoon light.
As we reach the bottom of the hill, we're really into the camp. The main building is on the left, with some trails behind it. Then a little up ahead is the mess hall, or cafeteria, with the infirmary attached. Then there are the tennis courts, swings, a seesaw, and of course tether-ball. Then up on a hill is the recreation building. It's huge. It has a big room with a piano, pool and pingpong, board games, and a bunch of other stuff.
People are everywhere, running around, saying hello after a long year apart. I see a bunch of familiar faces, and some new ones, too.
Finally we're at the bunks. There are 16 of them, 8 for the girls and 8 for the boys. The girls bunks are on the left side of the bank, facing the lake, and the boys on the right side. There are other cabins scattered throughout camp as well that have been added as more people began to come.
There are two sides the cabins, A and B, with a bathroom in the middle. The showers are off in another building, unfortunately. The front doors to the cabins are on the opposite side of the lake. Then the other side of the cabin has a deck that goes over the lake.
"Here's your bunk, Tasha," Amanda says as we approach the fourth cabin on the right side. "You all set? We'll check in later."
Amanda and I continue on until we reach the last two cabins.
"This is where we part," I say.
She winks then walks off. I drag my stuff up the stairs and into the cabin 7B. Instantly, I find myself wrapped in at least three pairs of arms.
"Cat! You're so late, we were getting wicked nervous!" the tall, scrawny girl with red hair and a smokey voice says.
"Don't worry, Daisy. I would never skip camp," I say as I survey the room. All of the six bunks are taken except two. I throw my stuff on the bottom bunk, sighing with relief. I'm not a top bunk kind of girl. I turn around and face the four girls, Daisy, Ringo, Amy, and Leena. Daisy is staring at me with her big green eyes. Ringo is your average crazy chick with no conscience. She has crazy curly blonde hair and these bright blue eyes that can make your blood go cold if she looks at you the wrong way. Amy is gentle as a flower, and always has her books. Her hair that was normally brown and frizzy was now gleaming and wavy. Leena is who you want to turn to if you're in need of some juicy gossip. She knows everyone and everything. And she's gorgeous; she's skinny but curvy, tan, with straight, long dark blond hair. Even though she's a gossip, she's always there if you need someone to talk to.
"So, how was your year?" Ringo asks, bounding over and grabbing me in a painfully tight hug.
"It was good," I say, gasping for air.
"That's good, I've got a great story to tell-" Ringo stops short. She turns her head to look at something. My jaw drops. In the doorway is absolutely the most gorgeous girl you have ever seen. Tall, like Amazon woman tall, with dark skin, dark hair, dark eyes, and perfect dark eyebrows.  She's clad in a short blue dress and sunglasses, even though it's still raining.
"This is cabin 7B, right?" she asks in a serious tone.
"Sure is," Ringo says.
"Well, then hi roomies."
She walks in, and following her are a middle aged couple, clearly her parents. They drop her two trunks and three suitcases in the middle of the room. Daisy, Ringo, Amy, Leena and I watch silently as they say their goodbyes.
"So," the girl says. "I'm Arabella. I'm going to need a bottom bunk.
"Sorry, they're all taken," Amy says softly.
"Uh. I said I NEED a bottom bunk. Clearly this one is up for grabs, it's not made yet."
"Yeah, that's because I just got here," I say. "I've already claimed it. Sorry."
"Rule number one: never say sorry," she says, then slowly her lips turn upward into a smile. "The bottom bunk is mine."
"Fine, I like the top bunk anyways," I mumble.
"Good. I don't want to make trouble."
The five of us stare at each other as Arabella rummages through her purse.
This is going to be a rough summer, I think to myself.

It's not just gonna be about the bitchy bunkmate, so don't lose hope yet. I'll write more tomorrow!
