Silly as it sounds… I love those early-morning conversations me and him have. The ones where we fret about impending project due dates, and hurriedly exchange missing homework answers. But then he’ll smile at me, and I’ll try not to laugh. But we both will, of course. Laughing, just laughing, at the others wide-eyed, Honors-class-induced panic, and a million thoughts swirling back and forth a million miles an hour, just stop for a moment. And we just smile at each other, for that one second, delighting in our own silliness. Until, of course, it’s time for class. Invariably, someone still can’t find the all important paper.
