"Child!" I heard
Lexi's voice scream at me. "Where are you
going?"
"I have hockey,"
I lied, running out the door before Brad figured it out. He
always knew. I drove down the street to the highway, got on. I
was going to LoudMouth Studios. Matt and I planned this two
weeks ago. We were running tight on cash, and needed something
to keep the house, and keep me playing hockey, because it was
the only way I had a chance of going to University of Toronto
next year. I got off the highway, and wound around the
backroads before finding the large grey
building.
"Can I help you
Miss?" A lady at the front desk asked gently. I walked
over to her desk.
"Hi, I'm Madelyn
Park," I started. "I have a meeting with Mr. Cowell
today," I watched as the women pulled out the small file I
had sent in weeks before.
"He's in room
one, follow me," The women lead me down a small hallway,
and I was suddenly extremely happy I had brought clothes to
change into before I got here. (http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/set?id=67087786)
A purple sweatshirt to pull over my white tank top, a pair of
ripped skinny jeans, and heeled booties. My gray Anthem made
beanie to cover my messy hair, my zipper bracelet, and the ring
Matt had given me for my seventh birthday, I turned and read it
before I walked into the room. 'not all who wander are
lost.' I had done my makeup in the car before I walked into
the building. The receptionist slowly turned the doorknob to
the room, and walked in in front of me. "Mr. Cowell,"
She said delicately. "Miss. Madelyn Park is here for you
and the boys," Boys? I thought to myself. Who would he
bring with him?
"Yes, yes. Please,
send her in," His voice sounded so different from the
phone. "Boys, behave," I heard him say sternly as
five strange accents bickered amongst
themselves.
"Who is this girl
anyway?" I heard an Irish accent speak up, and papers
rustle. "Some crazy athlete," I heard another page
turn as I started to walk in. "Ohh, she's a hot
athlete," The voice said again.
"NIALL SHUT UP!"
A different accent yelled at him.
"Oh, Miss Park,"
A man I assumed was Simon stood up. "I'm so happy you
could come in today," He reached out and shook my hand.
"I'm Simon."
"Pleasure," I
said quietly shaking his hand. "I'm Maddie," I
felt five pairs of eyes glued on me.
"Yes," He sat
down, gesturing me to do the same, I sat down next to the
blonde boy. His eyes locked on me. "I'm sure you know
who the other five people in this room are," I looked over
at them, and shook my head no.
"Sorry Sir," I
laughed awkwardly. "I kinda don' t pay attention to
the media. Well, unless their talking about hockey," I
mumbled.
"I'm Niall, Niall
Horan," The boy sitting next to me said. I looked over at
him. His Irish accent sounding extremely strange. I was
suddenly aware of my Canadian accent when I
spoke.
"Hi," I looked
back over to Simon as the five boys introduced themselves, each
with a slightly different. Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, Liam
Payne, Zayn Malik, Harry Styles. They seemed oddly familiar,
but I couldn't tell you why.
"Well, now that your
somewhat familiar with the boys, I'd like to hear you sing
with one of them," Familiar? Did Simon just say familiar?
I just met these idiots.
"Sure," I said
awkwardly standing up. I walked into the recording box with
Zayn, as the receptionist came back in the room, and whispered
something to Simon. He called over the mic in the
room.
"Maddie, there's
a young man and women here asking for you?" I hit myself
in the forehead and started laughing.
"Can I get out for a
second, let them in please?" Niall opened the box door,
and the receptionist lead two people in. "Can I help you
two?" I laughed hugging both of them.
"You're a liar!
Brad yelled kissing me gently.
"And, you're in a
room with One Direction," Lexi said laughing before
realizing what she had said. "One Direction!" She
looked at me with a happy almost panicked
face.
"Yes Momma, One
Direction," One who?
